Grapeseed Oil and Extracts

Grapeseed oil is extracted from grape seeds and because of its neutral taste, is often used as an ingredient in salad dressings or as a base for flavoring with many different herbs and spices. As a cooking oil, grapeseed tastes great, yet its light neutral flavor won't clash with other foods. In fact, it is a more efficient flavor carrier than other oils, letting foods' natural goodness shine through. Excellent for all cooking, for salads or pastas, or simply as a bread dip.

Grapeseed extract has a relatively high smoke point so it can be safely used to cook at high temperatures, perfect for stir-fries, sautéing and fondue.

More than a cooking oil; it has long been sold in European pharmacies as a remedy for high cholesterol. It is one of the lowest of all oils in saturated fat (8%), and one of the highest in linoleic acid (Omega-6), which has been shown to boost HDL ("good") cholesterol and lower LDL ("bad") cholesterol and triglycerides (fats in the blood). It also contains high levels of vitamin E and high traces of proanthocyanadin, a powerful antioxidant.

Watkins provides three types of extracts:
